"KidneyUp - an innovative mobile application supporting patients with chronic kidney disease".

Activities that will be carried out in the project:
- The following activities are planned for the first task "Manufacturing the mobile application":
Hiring the necessary personnel. We will also start and complete the UX/UI of the application, which will result in the creation of mockups and creations of the application. Creating the scope of content support and scope of functionality. Configuration of the production development environment, development of medical standards, content batch for the psychological support module.
- As part of the second task "Conducting testing and research of the mobile application", work on the application will continue. Testing and research of the application will also be carried out. They will consist in conducting .business tests on the developed application, before the final implementation of the product. Within the framework of the task, the final version of the application for Android and iOS systems will also be produced
- Within the framework of the third task "Market implementation of the product" the following work will be carried out: Continuation of hiring the necessary personnel. Preparation of reports on errors from the testing phase, proposals for corrections and additions based on the tests carried out, preparation of recommendations for modification, addition or development of the data analysis and patient interaction model. The product during this task will move from the testing phase to the production phase. The application under this task will be tested and will have all the functionalities described. It will be available for download in mobile app stores (App Store, Google Play).

Target groups (who the project is aimed at, who will benefit from it):
Innovative mobile application for patients with chronic kidney disease. An application that includes a variety of functions and should be tailored to the needs of a specific and highly specific segment of patients, representing up to 4% of the population

Project objective:
The project's objective is to develop the business activities of a startup company, i.e. KidneyUp sp. z o.o., in the macro-region of Eastern Poland, based on a nationally and internationally innovative mobile application that will change the way people with kidney disease are supported and the business model prepared under sub-measure 1.1.1 of the POPW, which has been verified in detail and confirmed by research with future users. The essence of the planned mobile application, which is part of a system that enables remote care and provides data collection, is to support the user in maintaining the best overall condition and inhibition of the patient, and in transplant patients, a well-functioning transplanted organ.

Effects, results of the project:
The final result of the project is the introduction of a product innovation to the Polish market in the form of an application, providing services in a subscription model, which will systematically increase the number of customers. A mobile application with key functionalities:

  • Counting and correcting fluid balance
  • Tips for maintaining a healthy diet
  • Support in taking care of physical activity
  • Measuring blood pressure, heart rate, weight
  • Monitoring blood glucose measurements
  • Mood analysis and psychological guidance
  • Reminders for doctor's appointments
  • Reminder to practice dialysis fistula
  • Reminders to take the medicine
  • Catalog of medications taken
  • Automatic collection of results from blood pressure monitor and glucometer
  • Adding test results by taking a picture with your phone
